I have a 13 year crazy teen that I actually get along with pretty well. I am a single mother , but her father is pretty involved in her life. He is 40 going on 12. They are constantly arguing. He is basically a control freak with anger/rage problems. My daughter came home last night hyperventillating, shaking and crying. She has tried talking to him about how he makes her feel and he does not hear anything thing she says. Most of the time he turns on his martyrdom of how horrible he is, or turns it around and makes her feel like she's the bad one. When she came home in that condition last night I confronted him. He didn't hear anything I said either. She is at the point where if things do not change with him she doesn't want to see or talk to him. I don't know what to do. She went to school early today to talk to her counselor there to try to get some help. I am very frustrated because I want nothing more than for her to have a decent relationship with him, but unless he can hear some of her pain without reacting like a child himself I don't see how this is ever going to happen. I really need help figuring out what I can do that will be helpful to both. Thanks for listening!
