I just started reading your book "yes your teen is crazy". I was contiplating purchasing the total Transformation Program but was discouraged by the Price. So I went to the bookstore and mulled the books over for an hour, then deciding yours was atleast gonna give me a chuckle or two. I was amazed before I even finished chapter one. I try to use humor whenever possible to difuse my lil terror. She is 14, and I swear, went from mommys lil girl in 6th grade to this evil, diabolicle, self centered alien in the 7th grade.
I also have a 19 yr old son and 17 yr old daughter who never gave me the greif this child has.
She swears at me constantly, calls me nasty names, is always late for school, if not skipping, Is completely disrespectful unless she wants something from us. Feels that she can only wear abercrombie, aeropostale, hollister clothing, hello im not rich. If I try to hug her she calls me a freak and squirms away. I feel alot of this is button pushing, and maby some hormonal whirlpool, associated with puberty, but correct me if I am wrong. she constantly takes off after school and cannot find her. We stopped buying min for her cellphone, 300 min every 12 days she was using. We passworded the computer so she cannot access the antichrist (AOL /IM). or worse "myspace".
She then just grabs the phone, and chats all nite. She took my cellphone and ran up a $100 bill just for an evening of internet surfing on it. She will sneak the phones when we are sleeping and they are charging. Will not answer call waiting when its not for her. My husband drives truck and is home every other day. But usually has to leave just after she is supose to get off the bus. she has called the police and reported me for abuse when i backslapped her mouth for callin me a C***, It was not a hard slap just a flick of the wrist. Police found no evidence of abuse and actually told her that if she shoved or hit me again they would take HER away. She didnt like that one. She has often stated "I hope u die in your sleep." We do not beleive in hitting the children because we feel "violence begetts violence" Time outs used and spanking only when they hurt others or were putting themselves in harms way like running twards road. Worked with other two.
We have taken her to a counselor but she just tells her what she wants to hear and says so. I have tried to my wits end to get through to her and always ends up with her degrading me, and verbally abusing me. I WILL NOT
give up on this child, thats what she wants me to do. She has never used drugs or had sex, infact is very angry at her BFF for doing just that and has not spoken to her in weeks. If anyone has found the button on the remote to flip that switch in their brains to human again please let me know......
