Yesterday was the 1st night of Passover for us, and as we were cleaning up and the kids ( boys 14 and 12) were going to bed, I had a sudden flash of last year's Holdiay. It wasn't a pleasant memory. Our older son is being treated for depression and now we are trying to findout if he is Bi-Polar. We have several good Doctors, lots of support, ( and a Great Reference Book !!!)
But there I was last night... after a pleasant evening with family, asking the kids to PLEASE go to bed, and starting to get some attitude. When I remembered the fighting and fear from the year before. All of a sudden, my nagging just stopped. How could I possibly be angry? Everyone was safe, actually pretty happy, so what if they were dragging their feet....
We certainly don't have all, or even most, (possibly less than half :) ) of the answers. But it felt so good to remember where we had been and see where we are. Things can, and do change. Which of course means they may get tough again. But knowing that there are breaks, if you see them makes a huge difference.
Here's to any of you who are having my "last year" , "this year".
Just please remember to send a msg yourself when you are in a sunny spot. I may need the reminding......
