Hi, I'm the Mom of the 12 year old who still won't go to therapy, and I wanted to report that my husband and I met with all the parents of all the kids that have been "hanging out". One couple hosted this get together at their home. It was the most pleasant evening I've had in ages!! We all swapped "crazy teen" stories, laughed, asked questions, shared what we knew and what we didn't, and basically came away feeling like we would somehow make it through our kids' teen years. Everyone there has or is currently reading your book and feel like its their bible!!!! We didn't have the kids there, but are planning to do another get together with them some time in the future.

The thing I found that was so profound, was that we (parents) are absolutely hungry to talk, talk, talk. Some parents there were single parents and boy its twice as hard for them, so I made a pact with one single Mom to help her out when she needed it. Since her's is the kid (a 12 year old himself) who seems to be the pot supplier, I'm am more than happy to get involved! HA!

I highly recommend to parents who are going through hard times to contact the parents of your kid's friends. I can promise you that they are going through the same hard times too, and just getting honest with one another and sharing frustrations, fears, and laughs is just plain good! I don't know if this is going to stop any of our kid's crazy behavior anytime soon, but knowing I can now call another parent makes me feel less alone in it all.

Well, I just wanted to share this and hope others find it helpful.
