Great idea from Connecticut! I just finished my last class for my Associate Degree (I'm 46!) and it was on Social Welfare. I was so interested in the issues involving children and during each discussion, I would have some input about parenting (I have 2 teens). I am of course, older than most of the class! First, I believe that parenting is a huge responsibility that most people don't really contemplate carefully. I love my kids, and they are wonderful kids - but there are times when I know I'm not a great mom. Who is? I firmly believe that if you don't have the means to take care of a child, you should not bring them into the world in the first place. I stand firm on that, and I know there are mistakes, they have affected my own family. However, there are many programs and ways to prevent those things from happening as often as we see them. Young women and men need to seriously think about what they are doing before they have created a life that they can't take responsibility for. Parent training is an absolute necessity - it's a HUGE responsibility. Those children WILL be the ones running our country some day, and we all know, our country needs all the help we can get right now. I'm a huge fan Doc Bradley - I sell your books to my friends all the time! Thanks!
