Dear Dr. Bradley,

I must thank you and let you know what a profound affect you have had on so many people in so many ways.
When my daughter turned 13, I bought your book and have not put it down since. It sits by my bed, full of post its, and continues to be my rock during my daughter's teen years. I have used the forum under different names...(just because sometimes I have trouble logging in) My daughter has her ups and downs but thanks to your wonderful advice she is truely on a good path.
I came upon your book as a parent but have now brought it to a whole new realm of use. I am a special education teacher who specializes in positive behavioral strategies and functional behavioral analysis (FBA), and am often called in to work on finding solutions to problem behaviors in teenagers in the NYC public schools. I work with the general ed and special populations. Presently I am working with a wonderful new empowered school named Queens School of Inquiry. The principal Ms. Elizabeth Ophals, has really welcomed me and I have shared my experiences with her general ed staff. This is a school who is dealing with middle school and will be growing through high school. Of course when I started to deal with some of their issues I talked about your book and how it really helped me as a teacher as well as a parent.
Can you believe this principal not only heard me, went out, bought the book, read it..and then ordered for her staff? She has even been recommending it to parents! It has really become a lifeline to refer to.
You have now been introduced to the NYC public school system. I have never seen you scheduled to appear anywhere near hear, but hope one day you will make it our way. If not, I still want to thank you and let you know that your book is a gem for teachers, parents and anyone wanting to navigate the world of the adolescent.
And if you are ever near NY...:)
Fondly, Gwen SETSS P255 @QSI

Dear Gwen,
Boy, did you ever make my day with that wonderful note. However, the fact is that the book is really just a "passing along" of all the wonderful things I learned from the families with whom I was privileged to work---families just like yours, no doubt. I truly believe that, in the end, wisdom is really just shared experience. But I will take the credit for writing it all down.
I do hope to get to New York at some point, and it would be great to meet with you and your staff. Your school (Queens School of Inquiry) sounds like something I'd love to see. I do staff training as well and would jump at the chance to work with you guys. Let me know if that is ever possible.
And again, thanks so much for your kind words.
