Hello Everyone,

I read Dr. Bradley's book and was really impressed. Our 14 year old son looks like he's in a lot of pain. His marks have suffered. He no longer goes outside to spend time with friends. He spends all his time on the computer or if we chase him away from that he goes to his room and reads.

We have tried counseling before, but the counselor refused to work with us or involve us in the process in any way.

We need to find someone in the Toronto area who is prepared to work with a family and who has experience with adolescents. My wife and I want very much to be part of the solution.

Thank you,

Bill

Bill,

I'd ask your son's pediatrician or family doctor for some names of couselors. Let them know what you didn't like about the last one. Usually the medical community has a good idea of which professionals works best with individual situations.

Good luck

Thanks for the good advice, Jannie! Our family doctor is a wise woman, but in the ways of teenagers, she's a fellow sufferer!

We have searched the web site of the Ontario Association of Marriage and Family Therapists and have a list, but we would truly WELCOME a personal referral. We (and our son!) are a little therapist shy right now.

Thanks,

Bill
