View Full Version : Is something wrong when a kid doesn't stress over much?

I have a great son. He worked his butt off to earn a divison I football scholarship but his GPA did not meet the NCAA's mark and he has to take 2 classes and make A's to start by August 17th. His summer classes end August 4th. I think he gets it why he is where he is but what do I do now. I find myself reminding and bugging him about getting his stuff in. Do I shut up and let the pieces fall where they may? My stress is driving me crazy and he says he isn't stressed over it. Is that just part of being 18 and not being able to recognize the long term effects of behavior?

Dear Mom,
Sorry for the late response, but know that bugging him will hurt more than it helps. He needs to play this out on his own, so that whatever the outcome, he will learn about himself from it. If you jump in you will only delay his learning-based maturity, which is what needs to happen at this age.
Take care.
