    Daughter and ADD

Our daughter will not or can not do homework. She believes, or wants us to believe that she has ADD. She has a problem with homework. She states that no matter how hard she tries she just can not consintrate on her homework. She even tells her friends that she has ADD. We have not recieved any indications that this is true, she just can not do homework no matter what we do or how hard we, or she tries.

    Dear Parent,
Given your prior posting concerning your daughter, I'd use her ADD worry as an excuse to see a professional (preferably a female one). The doc can evaluate for ADD (which likely would have been evidenced by now) AND chat about the unusual stresses in her life (cutting off friends because they copy her hair, and her sibling conflicts) which might be contributing to her inability to focus on homework. Perhaps she is signaling that she needs some support through a tough time.
If she refuses, just dispassionately note that you are concerned for her, and that she might want to waste one hour seeing what a therapist is like.
    Good luck.
